Martinucci
A software bridge between the stores' scales and headquarters: product registries and weighing data travel on their own, in real time, all day long
The Problem
Martinucci, a historic Apulian pastry and ice cream company with multiple stores, had installed new scales in its shops. The scales produce a file with weighing data and constantly need to receive updated registries from headquarters: products, prices, labels. But there was no automatic link between the scales and the central server. Someone would have had to move those files by hand, continuously, all day long.
The Solution
We developed Martinucci Interscambio, a piece of software that runs on the stores' computers, sitting between the scale and the central server. It does one thing and does it reliably: it exchanges files automatically for the whole shift. Registries reach the scale on their own, weighings return to the server on their own.
Two systems that did not talk to each other
Like many Italian SMEs, Martinucci uses solid tools and management systems that simply do not communicate with each other. The new scales in the shops had a double need: sending weighings to headquarters and receiving updated registries. Without a link, the only alternative was someone's continuous manual work.
Updated registries from headquarters reach the scale on their own
Weighing data returns to the central server automatically

The software starts when the store opens and works in the background until closing time. It watches the exchange folders, picks up new files and delivers them where they belong: registries from headquarters to the scale, weighings from the scale to the central server.
Active for the whole shift, from opening to closing
No files to move by hand, no forgotten steps
Automatic exchange
Files travel on their own between the scale and headquarters, in both directions
Zero manual steps
Nobody has to act as a go-between during the shift anymore
Real time
Prices and labels always up to date, weighings immediately available at headquarters
The missing bridge
You do not always need a big project. Often what holds companies back is two systems that do not talk to each other, forcing someone to act as a manual go-between. Prisma builds the missing bridge: we take the tools the company already has and make them communicate.
Do your systems not talk to each other either?
